Experience
I worked as a Software Dev for Consortium Software, a local business-facing app developer in my hometown of Battle Ground, WA, from May of 2021 to August 2022.
My primary job responsibilities included:
- Designing and building webapps from scratch for Consortium's ASP.Net app suite
- Working with my Senior to publish the webapps to the live suite from our production server
- Analyzing and improving performance of older apps in the suite
- Providing design advice for refreshes of older apps
Here's what I got done while working with Consortium:
- Designed, built, and published a weather app from scratch, featuring customizable email alerts to warn users of inclement weather in their area
- Worked on Superior Note, Consortium's note-taking app, in order to improve load speeds, add a real-time collaboration feature, and fix some long withstanding bugs
- Gave creative app designs for a future plan to revisit a scrapped app idea. This app was a task-tracking app, which I was consulted on due to my interest in task-tracking apps at the time due to a rough patch with my focus.
All in all, I really enjoyed my time with Consortium, but unfortunately had to terminate my employment with them due to becoming a full-time University student. They gave me some amazing experience learning some common standards in the software field, from Agile, to daily stand-up meetings with one of my Senior developers, to making sure that I don't underestimate how much time a project might take :)
